American Express and Common Purpose Unveil the 2024 American Express Leadership Academy, Rejuvenating Global Nonprofit Leadership

American Express and Common Purpose proudly announce the highly anticipated launch of the 2024 American Express Leadership Academy. Applications are now officially open for this reimagined global initiative that promises to empower and elevate nonprofit leaders worldwide. The Academy will gather in three vibrant hubs—Sydney, London, and New York City—connecting, developing and reenergizing resilient changemakers who are poised to shape the future. Funded by the American Express Foundation, this transformative six-month program, is poised to address the unique hurdles faced by nonprofit leaders in today's ever-evolving landscape. Designed and delivered  by global leadership development organization Common Purpose, with support from global partners Delta Airlines, Dell, and the Hilton group, attendees will be equipped  with the dynamic skills essential for innovation, inspiration, and effective community impact. Themed "Resilient Changemakers," this year's program underscores the imperative for leaders to possess distinctive skills that propel action both within and beyond their organizations. Since its global relaunch in 2023, the Leadership Academy has successfully nurtured 151 nonprofit leaders from the Americas, UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. These leaders have engaged in a transformative learning experience, cultivating resilience, gaining insights from luminaries spanning the social, public, and private sectors and unlocking the power of storytelling to drive change in their worlds.

The 2024 American Express Leadership Academy will unfold across the globe in three dynamic locations:

• Sydney, Australia: May 14-17, catering to nonprofit leaders in the Asia Pacific region.
• London, England: July 9-12, welcoming nonprofit leaders from the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
• New York City, USA: November 12-14, hosting nonprofit leaders from The Americas.

The comprehensive curriculum will feature:

• Engaging talks and panel discussions with influential cultural, governmental, and philanthropic leaders worldwide.
• Essential skills training tailored for successful nonprofit leadership.
• Hands-on instruction in communication and storytelling.
• Peer coaching and personalized professional coaching, with a focal point on leadership resilience to combat burnout.
