As part of the next steps in my leadership development, I’d be very keen to take part in the Common Purpose Programme for high-potential leaders. This programme is tailored towards aspiring, or brand-new managers like myself, people who want to make a real difference in their organizations.
The programme is not classroom-orientated but rooted in the real world. It combines hands-on, experiential learning with intimate access to high-calibre leaders and real-life leadership challenges, meaning it provides real-world strategies that can be applied quickly to our organization.
The experience will provide me with several important learnings as a leader in our organization:
Heightened self-awareness and confidence: Impactful and changemaking leadership goes hand-in-hand with a strong sense of self, and this programme will provide me with practical tools to develop the skills, mindset and knowledge to lead with conscientious, inclusive impact.
Deeper understanding of people and culture: Promoting and leveraging diversity leads to new ideas and ways of working that can lift teams and organizations, and this programme will support my development and ability to empower diverse & inclusive teams.
Powerful connections: The programme will give me access to support from a diverse peer group who will provide new perspectives and experiences, particularly on some of my current leadership challenges. This will evolve my own understanding and practice of good leadership for the better of our organization.
