Liz Bromley is Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), responsible for corporate activities and the international strategy. The University is a major employer in Preston and the North West, with almost 30,000 students in the area and another 5,000 studying overseas. Liz is also responsible for marketing, communications and the University’s external engagement agenda, including the management of the University’s many partnerships. Liz is currently the acting CEO of the Universities Alliance Group.
Liz has worked in Higher Education for more than 20 years, having led on the development of student support services, and enriching the student experience and graduate employability in a number of universities. She was the COO of Goldsmiths, University of London for almost 5 years. She is well known in the sector for leadership development, positive change management, and entrepreneurial leadership.
As well as her work at UCLan, Liz is deputy chair of a Multi Academy Trust in Tower Hamlets, a member of the AHUA’s executive, and a trustee of the Richard Street Education Trust. Liz is married with three daughters, a son, a stepson, a granddaughter, a dog and a cat. She has found that gory crime thrillers offer a welcome break from reality.
