John Heraghty

John is the Operations Director for Scotland, having taken up the role with Common Purpose UK in February 2015. His job is to lead the local team and sell and deliver our courses, both in Edinburgh and nationally. He is also responsible for developing relationships with key organisations and individuals to progress the work of Common Purpose further throughout Scotland.

John previously worked for Common Purpose years between 1999 and 2011 in a variety of roles both in Scotland and throughout the UK.

John has also worked in the sports sector between 2012 and 2015 where he set up and established ‘Sported’- a new charity operating throughout the country. He have worked extensively in the arts having led 7:84 Theatre Company Scotland's award winning work in the community from 1993 to 1996.

He lives in Edinburgh and is excited about working with Common Purpose again. During his time off he likes to spend time with my family and likes to read, write, run, cycle and swim.
