Claire Piela

Claire leads Common Purpose’s global programmes, including the January Global Leaders Programme developed with Google Digital Academy. As part of the London team and a member of the Senior Leadership team, she is a driving force in growing Common Purpose’s work, both locally in London and globally through January.

Claire is deeply committed to developing leaders who can cross boundaries. She loves connecting with diverse leaders all over the world – and seeing the magic that happens when they come together! The impact Common Purpose has continues to inspire and energize her.

Claire joined Common Purpose in 2010 and has worked at a local and global level on various Common Purpose programmes over the last decade. She has a strong track record in global business development and partnerships at Common Purpose. She played pivotal role in the development and leadership of the CSCLeaders programme, a Commonwealth-wide senior leaders programme in partnership with HRH The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences. Over several years, Claire supported the growth of Common Purpose in Australia, Canada, parts of Asia Pacific and across Africa.

Prior to Common Purpose, Claire worked in Marketing, Public Relations and Events Management. She holds an MSc in International Public Relations and a BSc in Drama and Theatre Arts.

Claire lives in Preston in the UK with her husband, Simon and their two young children.
