Main purpose of the role

Common Purpose believes the next generation of leaders need Cultural Intelligence (CQ): the ability to cross boundaries and thrive in multiple cultures. We work with universities, such as Harvard, Oxford and National University of Singapore, who are looking to deliver on this through co-curricular leadership programmes for students. Our suite of programmes, delivered in cities around the world, help university students develop the CQ they need to become global leaders.

We are looking for a campaign manager who can lead a marketing campaign to engage Universities across the world. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the need to develop the next generation of global leaders, and crucially, will know how to communicate with universities in a compelling, relevant way.

Position: Marketing Campaign Manager (Higher Education)

Department/Office: Communications & Marketing Department

Responsible to: Communications & Marketing Director

Salary: £22,000-24,000 per annum

Physical Location: London                 

Duration: Permanent Full time (5 days per week)

Overall Objectives and Person specification

The main purpose of this role is to deliver a marketing strategy that will raise our brand’s profile in the Higher Education space and engage new and existing clients on our suite of leadership programmes.

Overall Objectives

This role entails, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Work with our design and digital team to create highly effective digital and print marketing materials
  • Co-create thought leadership with our university partners related to our proposition of developing the next generation of global leaders
  • Gain speaking opportunities at Higher Education events
  • Lead a PR strategy that achieves maximum exposure in industry publications.
  • Support business development by ensuring all proposals and sales materials are accurate, compelling and consistent with our brand
  • Use testimonials, storytelling and data to create inspiring digital content.
  • Lead a multi-faceted communications strategy across email, websites and social media.
  • Maintain brand consistency and effectiveness across a multitude of face-to-face and digital touchpoints
  • Apply for and win industry awards


Person specification

Essential qualifications, experience and competences:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience in delivering marketing campaigns
  • A thorough understanding of the Higher Education space
  • Experience creating compelling digital content and marketing materials
  • Experience delivering PR strategies
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and deliver competing tasks to deadlines, under pressure
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions, cultures and levels
  • An understanding of and commitment to Common Purpose’s mission, values and behaviours
  • Being passionate about and sharing our mission to create a world that is more inclusive
  • An understanding of what it means to be a natural networker who is always on the lookout for new opportunities
  • Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues, being a self-starter who is driven and motivated
