Veronica Orege

Veronica is currently the Programme Director (Africa) at Common Purpose in South Africa, a role she has held since May 2020.

A true pan-African, Veronica has spent an enormous amount of time in various countries on the continent and is passionate about developing its leaders. With training and skills development having been part of her programmes throughout her career, Veronica decided to venture full-time into leadership development as she realized that the true potential of this continent depended on the quality of its leadership. 

Prior to joining Common Purpose, Veronica was the head of country management at 2Engage, where she implemented customer loyalty programmes across multiple countries for clients such as MultiChoice Africa. Between 2011 and 2018, Veronica worked for the MultiChoice Group as the DStv-i Operations Manager at the Centre for Information & Insights and Research Analyst at DStv Media Sales. Earlier on in her career, Veronica worked as a Project Manager and Research consultant.

Born in Kenya to parents who were both educators, Veronica completed her B.A and M.A in Sociology at the University of Nairobi. Between 2001 and 2004, she lived in Harare before moving to Johannesburg, where she still lives today. Veronica is married and has one daughter. She loves local dishes from various African countries and enjoys long distance running.
