Pauline Sahetapy

With more than 40 years in the payment business, Pauline's experience cover many areas such as Business Development, Operations, and Education. Her clients included financial institutions as well as numerous government agencies in Asia Pacific (AP), Central Europe Middle East Africa (CEMEA) and Latin-America & Caribbean (LAC) Regions.

She joined Visa International in 1982 and has held several positions throughout her career starting as a Member Services Manager responsible for implementation and operations of clients' issuing and acquiring programs. Subsequently, she was promoted to Country Manager for Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Guam in 1995 where she managed the business development and key strategies for those countries.

She then joined the Member Education Department, where she was instrumental in raising the profile of the department through the creation of what is now, the Visa Business School. As Director of the School she expanded the curriculum by introducing new and enhanced training initiatives aimed at increasing our clients' profitability. 

Since 2010, she started to focus on government education programs and to date have personally trained closed to 5,000 delegates representing various government organizations in AP, CEMEA and LAC regions. This eventually evolved into the Visa School of Public Policy (VSPP) in March 2015 to provide the required focus to facilitate engagement opportunities for government education and regulatory dialogue. This department was then merged into the Visa University organization in March 2019.

In 2020, Pauline has been tasked with driving Delivery Excellence initiatives which includes the Visa University Faculty Program, one of the key pillars in driving a learning culture within Visa by leveraging our very own "Leaders as Teachers". This has created a pool of 100 faculty members located across the five Visa regions.

Pauline is based in Singapore, happily married with two daughters.
