Diaspora Dialogues – key information

Travel & Arrival

You will fly into Yerevan International Airport, which is 12 km west of Yerevan; the capital city of Armenia. Dilijan is approximately 1.5 hours drive away.

We can arrange a taxi to pick you up from the airport and transfer you to Dilijan if you let us know at least 7 days before departure. We will need your flight details. If you wish to make your own arrangements, taxis can be booked through Aqua Taxi Service - +374 200090, Facebook @TaxiAqua. The approximate cost for a one-way journey is $30 (15,000 AMD).

You should make your travel arrangements so that you arrive in time for the start of the Dialogues on Sunday 8 October at 10.00am. The formal agenda will finish on Tuesday 10 October at 1pm and will befollowed by lunch for those who wish to stay. The Diaspora Dialogues will close at 2pm.

If you plan to extend your stay in Armenia either side of the Dialogues, we can provide information on hotel accommodation on request.


Visa & Entry Requirements

Please go to http://www.mfa.am/en/visa/ to determine if you will require a visa to enter Armenia to attend this event.

To enter Armenia it is a requirement that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your date of departure and that it has at least one blank visa page.

You will be responsible for applying for your visa and providing any other documents this may require. For many countries a visa can be secured upon arrival at the airport. In some cases, a letter of invitation is required. We can arrange this from our hosts. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible if you will require a letter of invitation.


Accommodation & Meals           

Dilijan is a small spa town, often referred to as Little Switzerland. Your accommodation will be in a number of small hotels in the town. We will provide full details of the accommodation nearer the time. We are currently negotiating the best rates for you.  Please do advise us if you will require assistance with the costs of the hotel.   We will send full details of the hotels and rates as soon as possible.

All meals will be provided free of charge for the duration of the Diaspora Dialogues.

For those arriving the night before the Dialogues starts you will be invited to join us for dinner in Dilijan. Please do let us know if you will be joining us for dinner on Saturday 7October 2017.


Travel Bursaries

There are a small number of travel bursaries available for those unable to cover the costs of flights to Armenia.  If you wish to apply for a travel bursary please contact Alison Cusworth alison.cusworth@commonpurpose.org
