33Sixty is open to young people from Commonwealth countries. This programme will run from 22 to 25 August 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The programme

As part of the continued legacy of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games, 33Sixty was launched by Acting Minister for Children and Young People Fiona McLeod in 2015. The programme, which was renamed 33Sixty to reflect the fact that one third of the world’s population lives in the Commonwealth, and sixty percent of those are under 30, was delivered in Glasgow in February 2016 as the 60th National Legacy Programme

Now, as Scotland prepares for the Year of Young People, and the Commonwealth Games Baton is passed from Scotland to Australia, there is an opportunity to continue this partnership and have an impact on even more young people in Scotland. In 2017, the 33Sixty programme will be running from 22 to 25 of August in Glasgow.

“I have heightened my CQ! Meeting such a diverse group has been amazing. Hearing opinions from others has inspired me and challenged my own beliefs.”

Legacy 2014 and the Scottish Government

33Sixty is made possible through the kind support of Legacy 2014, an initiative of the Scottish Government.

Legacy 2014 is a Scottish Government initiative working to secure a lasting legacy for Scotland from hosting the XX Commonwealth Games. There are 60 Legacy 2014 national programmes delivered by national partners in place across Scotland, generating employment and training opportunities, investing in new or upgraded community facilities, helping people to get more active and inspiring learning opportunities and new global connections.

The Scottish Government is the executive branch of the devolved government of Scotland. It has a range of responsibilities which include health, education, justice, rural affairs, housing and the environment.
