RBS

A programme to accelerate and develop middle/senior managers in the corporate banking part of the business

Since 2011 Common Purpose worked with RBS to deliver three days of the final intervention of a three year programme to accelerate and develop middle/senior managers in the corporate banking part of the business. The aim of the intervention was to develop their strategic capability by immersing the participants in organisations very different to their own, who are dealing with hugely complex social issues. Participants were asked to try and support the organisation as they worked to effect change in that field.

As a result, participants:

  • developed a greater awareness of the context in which they operate
  • were encouraged to work collaboratively both internally and externally
  • built confidence on how to influence and engage effectively
  • encouraged to think differently about business challenges – stimulate creativity and innovation
  • have a greater awareness of themselves as a leader.
