Common Purpose Student Experiences, in partnership with China Youth Daily - under the patronage of the All-China Youth Federation, held the first Student Leader Innovation Experience in London and Cardiff. The programme, sponsored by UnionPay International, brought 30 students from leading universities in the UK and China together to work on a global challenge - 'What makes a city smart?'

From touring the Senedd (the National Assembly for Wales) to speaking at the 3rd UK-China People to People Dialogue in London led by Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP and Vice Premier Liu Yandong, the group developed their ideas throughout the week to present to a panel of experts from Google, Goldman Sachs, UKTI and EY.

Marie Mohan, CEO Common Purpose UK commented:

"It has been great to see students from China and the UK come together in London and in Cardiff to tackle this very topical challenge. I look forward to hearing how their thinking develops when they reconvene in China later this month."
