I was lucky enough to have been invited to a wedding in Dhaka, Bangladesh this #December. To me weddings mean: celebration, food, drink, dancing and family. The wedding was incredibly different to anything I had experienced before. Firstly, a Muslim wedding, there was no alcohol, appreciation of food was the main event. Secondly, there were a mind blowing 1500 guests – I don’t even know 1500 people! 

But what struck me more than these differences were the similarities. There was dancing, brilliant dancing, incredible food and ultimately, it was a celebration of family and friends and the unity of the marriage. I was embraced and welcomed in to this celebration and it was incredible, some things cross boundaries and cultures.
