Timothy M Russell

Timothy Russell serves as Vice President of Community Engagement at Window to the World Communications, Inc. (WWCI), parent company of public television station WTTW and classical music station WFMT. He is responsible for crafting and executing WWCI’s community engagement activities, focused on shaping the organization’s vision and strategy through partnerships with relevant influencers, non-profits, foundations, and corporations. Throughout his career, Tim has been a leader and change-maker focused on community affairs, philanthropy, and diversity and inclusion.

Prior to joining WWCI, Tim served as Global Chief Global Diversity and Inclusion Officer for CDK Global, and was responsible for the development and execution of diversity, inclusion and CSR strategies aligned with CDK's global business objectives. Previously, he was Director, Global Diversity and Engagement for PepsiCo, Inc., where he managed diversity and inclusion relationships with internal and external partners, and he has also held positions at Sara Lee Corporation and the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation. An Evanston resident, Tim serves on the boards of the Evanston Community Foundation and Chicago Cares.

Tim earned a Master's in Theological Studies from Garrett Theological Seminary, and the Harris School of a BA in Sociology and Religion from Oberlin College. Tim was awarded a Ford-Mellon Research Fellowship and a Ronald E McNair Research Fellowship. He has been recognized by Diversity MBA Magazine as a Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leaders, Savoy Magazine as well as recipient of the Chicago African Americans in Philanthropy Handy L. Lindsey, Jr. Award and Lecture on Inclusiveness in Philanthropy.
