Ali Layne-Smith

Ali Layne-Smith is an experienced HR Director who has made exceptional contributions to demanding and complex organizations including Ford Motor Company, GE Healthcare, Johnson & Johnson, West Midlands Police, London Ambulance Service and HMRC.

Ali currently works as an independent executive HR consultant aiding organizations to create inclusive working environments by delivering sustainable cultural change.

Ali is a Trustee of Oasis Community Learning (OCL), which is one of the UK’s largest MATs (Multi-Academy Trusts). She chairs their newly formed People Committee which incorporates the Remuneration Committee. OCL’s focus is on transforming education for children, their families, and their communities.

Ali recently started her first Non-Executive Director role with Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust where she is a member of the Workforce and Education Committee and chairs the Remuneration committee.

Ali is co-opted to the People Committee at "Kick it Out" which is a charity fighting against racism and discrimination in football.
