Tswelo Kodisang

Tswelo, Discovery’s Group Chief People Officer, is a commercially driven, international HR Leader with more than 25 years’ experience in building dynamic people functions. He has operated as a business partner and trusted advisor across Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, Israel and the UK for large FMCG companies (Unilever and Tiger Brands). Tswelo has a proven track record in improving business performance through talent acquisition and development, performance management, managing business change/transformation, building critical business capabilities and nurturing powerful, enabling corporate cultures. He coaches and enables, whilst fostering accountability and impact. Tswelo is deliberate and passionate about liberating the best in people and creating collaborative teams to achieve this.

Tswelo joined Discovery in 2018, where he is applying his extensive knowledge in creating business critical capabilities, with Discovery’s core purpose and values as a foundation, to build the best people function in the industry and take Discovery into number one position as top employer. He is focused on creating the ultimate employee experience, preparing for the future world of work and harnessing the value of people analytics.

Tswelo also serves as a member on the Global CHRO Round Table, Global SAP Success Factors Advisory Board, the St Mary’s School Board and St Stithians’ College Remuneration Committee.

On a personal note, Tswelo is married with three beautiful daughters who share his fascination with different cultures, travelling and exploring new places. Tswelo leads an active lifestyle running marathons, cycling and riding motorbikes.
