Swati Mathur is the Chief Operating Officer of Common Purpose Asia Pacific, Singapore. Swati joined Common Purpose in December 2015, after spending a decade in the corporate sector – in a different part of Asia – where she led leadership development on the other side, and she brings that experience to her role in Common Purpose. In her current role, she is responsible for the operations of Common Purpose in the Asia Pacific region.
She is passionate about leadership development and has, in the past, led organizations to realize their leadership aspirations. At Common Purpose, Swati oversees leadership programmes being run in the region. She is responsible for expanding the network, stakeholder management, and designing and delivering programmes. She also leads on the programme design for bespoke interventions with organizational partners and manages key relationships for the organization in the wider Asia Pacific region. Organizational transformation is what drives Swati, with leadership sitting at the core. As a part of her role, Swati has travelled across Asia-Pacific to introduce the Common Purpose unique pedagogy of Cultural Intelligence leadership to organizations in the government, private and not-for-profit sectors. She has also delivered programmes in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Melbourne and India.
Prior to joining Common Purpose, Swati was Vice President and Head – Human Resources for Edelweiss Retail Finance, and double hatted that role with Leadership Development Lead for Edelweiss Financial Services. She also worked with Cisco Systems and 3Global Systems prior to that. Swati holds a Master of Arts in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India. Born in India, she now lives in Singapore with her family.
