Jonathan Donner is Director, Executive Development for Amazon, based in Seattle, Washington, USA, a role he has held since July 2017. He leads the team responsible for all corporate programs and experiences designed, developed and delivered to Amazon’s senior leaders.
Prior to joining Amazon, Jonathan served as Strategic Advisor and Chief of Capability Development for the World Food Programme (WFP), the food assistance branch of the United Nations and the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security, based in Rome, Italy.
Before working with the UN, Jonathan held the position of Vice President Learning and Capability Development for Unilever, one of the world’s leading suppliers of fast moving consumer goods, based in London. His responsibilities included: designing and delivering global leadership programmes through Unilever’s “Four Acres” Leadership Centres in London and Singapore.
Jonathan has held a range of major development roles in significant global businesses. His early career was spent in a range of global assignments at Philip Morris/Altria, ultimately heading up all leadership development activities at the company-wide level which at the time included Philip Morris, Kraft and Miller Brewing. Jonathan moved to the UK in 2004 to head up Leadership and Development for Marks and Spencer, the leading Retailer.
Jonathan is a recognised expert in the fields of Learning and Leadership Development. His work has been featured as part of the teaching curriculum of Harvard Business School, in journals such as the Harvard Business Review and in many leadership books.
