Sarah has a B.Sc. Mgmt (Marketing) from DIT College of Marketing & Design. From 1988-1996, she joined Johnson Brothers, an Irish distributor to the grocery trade, where she worked in various roles involving both marketing activities and customer management.
In 1996, Sarah set up the Ireland subsidiary for Coty Inc, at the time a private beauty company based in Paris, now publicly quoted on NYSE. There, Sarah's remit as General Manager was to deliver the sales & P&L target for Ireland, liaising with logistics and media partners locally. Sarah completed the Institute of Directors modules on Governance, Finance, Strategy and HR, in 2016, sitting the certificate exam and achieving a distinction in the Diploma in June 2017.
Having completed secondary school education in Newtown, Sarah was appointed to the School Committee which preceded the 'Patron Body' structure. During that time, Sarah convened the marketing sub-committee and was the first female appointed to the finance committee. Sarah has also sat on a School Review Panel for DIT, alongside 5 academics. Sarah currently sits on a media advisory group for Cosc, the National Office for the Prevention of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence (Dept of Justice). Beginning 2017, Cosc have been promised €1m annually to change the culture in Ireland around domestic violence. Sarah's role is to assess the media plans and ensure Cosc are getting value for money.
