Dale is a marketing professional, with a background in creative writing and content marketing. He holds both a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing and a BA in English Literature from Newcastle University.
As a writer, Dale has written plays that have gone on to be performed in Newcastle, York, Edinburgh and Philadelphia. He has also delivered creative writing workshops at Poplar Union, an arts and community centre in East London. Prior to working at Common Purpose, Dale was Editor of PictureShow Magazine – an online film magazine, which covers leading global film festivals and new trends in cinema.
Dale joined the Common Purpose Communications & Marketing team in February 2014, as Digital Content Editor. This role involved developing new brand messaging and positioning, oversight and/or creation of all copy, and the development of the organization’s video production capabilities. A talented videographer, Dale has shot and edited films for Common Purpose in the UK, Ghana and Singapore.
In 2017, Dale was promoted to the role of Communications & Marketing Director, sitting on the Senior Management Team for Common Purpose Charitable Trust. In this role, he leads the Communication & Marketing team in London, Bangalore and Singapore, and has overall responsibility for the brand, global communications, digital marketing and marketing strategy.
He lives in East London with his wife, with whom he watches a lot of theatre and football.
