Associate Programme Director

Ann Donner

Ann comes to Common Purpose with over 25 years experience leading and managing strategic initiatives in the public, charitable, and private sectors and has held leadership positions with government, civic, health care and business organisations. A skilled strategist and facilitator, she has a unique ability to uncover creative approaches and a talent for bringing disparate interests together toward a common goal.

Ann is the former executive director of two Boston-based charitable organisations and brings her cross-sector expertise and perspective to her work. Over the course of her career, she has leveraged investment in critical urban development and transportation projects and raised significant resources for a wide variety of initiatives and organisations. She has promoted new models for consensus-building, increased the effectiveness and profile of numerous organisations and influenced the design and programming of important public spaces all while collaborating with a broad range of constituencies.

As the principal of a consulting practice, Ann provides strategic planning, facilitation, program development, project management and interim leadership to a diverse portfolio of clients who share her passion for realizing great ideas and have the ambition to take their projects and organisations to the next level.

Ann has served on the boards of several charities and commissions focused on community based social services, health care, and urban development.

Ann resides in the Boston area with her husband and two teenage sons and enjoys spending time playing her vintage Martin Guitar. Ann believes Common Purpose stimulates curiosity, challenges and realigns our understanding of what enables leaders to be effective agents of change.
