Main purpose of the role

Common Purpose is looking for Digital Content Editor, with International experience, who can create compelling, brand-relevant content.

The ideal candidate will have experience producing digital content that communicates our mission and beliefs to audiences in Asia-Pacific and around the world. They will understand how to plan and execute content campaigns to achieve specific goals. They will be outward looking; they will know how to spot trends and work with third parties to deliver strategies that achieve maximum impact.

Overall Objectives and Person specification

The main purpose of this role is to reach our target audience by creating exceptional digital content that delights, educates and inspires.

Overall Objectives

This role entails, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Write blogs and articles that promote our thought leadership on Cultural Intelligence, Student Leadership, Cross-Boundary Leadership and diaspora communities
  • Work with Common Purpose Alumni around the world to help tell their story
  • Generate ideas and co-ordinate content for different media such as infographics, video and radio podcasts, so we can reach audiences in new ways
  • Contribute to our Social and SEO strategy so we can reach more people
  • Work with external platforms to lead a link-building strategy
  • Use media monitoring software to gain insights on our brand, reputation and areas of thought leadership.

 

Person specification

Essential qualifications, experience and competences:

  • A self-starter you will have a strong ability to work on your own initiative, as well as with internal and external teams, and be entrepreneurial in generating new ideas
  • Superb written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience writing content for different audiences using different tones of voice
  • Strong editorial judgement
  • Ability to produce and edit video interviews
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage complex digital campaigns
  • Ability to consistently generate strong creative ideas
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions, cultures and levels (both online and offline)
  • Ability to network and work with external partners to deliver on content strategy
  • Ability to operate both independently and as part of a small team
  • Understanding of and commitment to Common Purpose’s mission, values and behaviours
  • The enthusiasm to learn new skills; meaning the role can grow with you

 

Desirable qualifications, experience and competences:

  • 2 years experience working in a marketing or similar role
  • Experience using Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign
