We are currently looking for a dynamic and ambitious professional to join us as Operations Executive in our UK Operations team. This represents a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to take the next step in their professional career. Full of energy, drive and with a can-do attitude you will work closely with the CEO, UK Operations Director and Senior Management Team of Common Purpose UK.

Operating within a dynamic and fast-paced environment you will be responsible for supporting the CEO and UK SMT to ensure that the organization meets its strategic goals. We are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about leadership development. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, project management and written skills and a good grasp of organizational finances. Experience of a hybrid commercial/not-for-profit environment would be a plus.

Contract Type: Full time permanent

Salary: £24,000-£26,000 per annum

Overall Objectives and Person specification

The main purpose of this role is to reach our target audience by creating exceptional digital content that delights, educates and inspires.

Overall Objectives

A self-starter you will have a strong ability to work on your own initiative, working alongside the CEO, UK Operations Director, Senior Management Team and other colleagues.

This role entails, but is not limited to, the following:

 

1)    UK Operations

  • Support the CEO in implementing the Common Purpose UK strategic plan
  • Support the CEO in the interface with the Finance team, ensuring accurate analysis and presentation of financial information
  • Be the main interface with Central service functions including IT, HR, Marketing
  • Manage the agenda setting and reporting process for, and actions from, the Senior Management Team meetings (and other meetings as required), including the drafting of specific reports
  • Lead the collection and analysis of, and actions from, Management Indicators
  • Support the production and maintenance of marketing collateral both in print and online

 

2)    Project Management

  • Manage the tender and proposal-writing process, using Common Purpose templates and working with local Common Purpose teams, for customized (bespoke) programme pitches
  • Lead on Project Management for any projects requiring multiple cities or teams to work together, including the sourcing and deployment of appropriate internal and external resources within agreed budgets
  • Drive the use of Project Management software (Smartsheet) across Common Purpose UK teams
  • Support the production of standard sales pitches and marketing materials i.e. case studies, testimonials, website articles etc to improve customer engagement and increase sales.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new ideas at a local, regional and national level working closely with the wider Common Purpose UK team

 

3)    Governance

  • Manage the agenda setting and reporting process for, and actions from, Trustees/Directors meetings (and other meetings as required), including the drafting of specific reports

 

 

Person specification

Essential qualifications, experience and competences:

  • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent Project Management skills with clear attention to fine detail
  • Experience of analysing and reporting on financial and management information 
  • Experience of establishing strong working relationships with colleagues from different functions and cultures
  • Ability to work effectively within a dispersed team
  • Ability to respond appropriately to different situations and personalities
  • Experience of a flexible approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Experience of proactively identifying and addressing issues
  • Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Able and willing to travel to UK locations for short periods of time and at short notice
  • An understanding of and commitment to Common Purpose’s mission, values and behaviour.

 

Desirable qualifications, experience and competences:

  • Experience of working with/for a Senior Leadership Team or CEO
  • Experience of managing budgets and making financial forecasts
  • Experience of line management
