Common Purpose
33Sixty

33Sixty is a leadership programme for young leaders of the Commonwealth aged between 18 and 25.

About 33Sixty

Our programme is called 33Sixty because 33% of the world’s population lives in the Commonwealth, of whom 60% are under the age of 30.

33Sixty brings young leaders together in order to give them the skills and the experience to cross boundaries, lead change and use the Commonwealth’s networks effectively.

33Sixty builds on the hugely successful 33Fifty programme which was first run in July 2014, one week before the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The programme will give you:

  • leadership skills to help you in your studies, career and civic life
  • the ability to make a difference to your community, the Commonwealth and wider society
  • access to global networks and an alumni community of engaged Commonwealth citizens
  • Cultural Intelligence – the ability to cross divides and thrive in multiple cultures.

Who is it for?

33Sixty will bring together 100 young leaders of which:

  • 1/3 will be nationals of the host country
  • 1/3 will be from across the Commonwealth and currently studying or living in the host country
  • 1/3 will travel to the host country from across the Commonwealth.

33Sixty is open to young leaders who meet the following criteria;

  • Aged between 18 and 25 years old on the date of the programme.
  • A citizen of a Commonwealth country.
  • Able to communicate and work in English.
