Philip Wright

Philip is Vice Chairman and a non-executive director of Barts Health. He is Chairman of Digital Theatre in the online media sector. He sits on the Board of Common Purpose, a charity and social enterprise in leadership development and on the Council of Goldsmiths, University of London. He is Chairman of Beyond Food Foundation, a charity which seeks to motivate and inspire people who are at risk of or have experienced homelessness. He is a Director of Allia, a charitable organisation that creates opportunities for people to invest their money for social benefit. Finally he is Chair of the Lord Mayor's Appeal Committee for 2013/2014.

He was on the board of NHS London from October 2009 to July 2010 and of Barts and The London from November 2010 to March 2012.

He is also the author of a book "In Search of Shareholder Value"(1997).

Philip was a Partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers until December 2011 where he was responsible for some of the firm's major public and private sector clients. He was also responsible for PwC services to non-executive directors. This programme included the effectiveness of the Board and the workings and effectiveness of Board Committees, as well as issues such as remuneration, risk and pensions. Between 1997 and 2003 he was first European then Global Leader for Corporate Finance and Recovery. He was also a member of the firm's Global Executive Leadership Team, responsible for PwC's global strategy and operations.

Philip has a background in corporate finance and board level issues, and has worked extensively in countries including Japan, Australia, Hungary and Germany.
