Claire Piela

Claire leads on the CSCLeaders sales and marketing strategy. She is responsible for identifying participants from across the Commonwealth for CSCLeaders, as well as managing stakeholder relationships.

Prior to Common Purpose, Claire worked in Public Relations, Events Management and Marketing. Immediately prior to Common Purpose, Claire was an account manager in a marketing agency, where she managed the events and public relations for the Chartered Institute of Marketing whilst completing an Msc in International Public Relations. She also holds a BSc in Drama and Theatre Arts. Claire is currently studying for a Professional Diploma in Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing

Claire sees one of key achievement as playing a key role in launching and growing Common Purpose’s biggest global leadership programme, CSCLeaders. Successfully recruiting senior and exceptional people for CSCLeaders, many of whom represent new geographical markets for Common Purpose and building a strong and engaged alumni network across the Commonwealth.

Claire joined Common Purpose in 2010, working across Lancashire, Cumbria and South Yorkshire in the UK before joining the CSCLeaders team in 2012. She has experience of a broad range of Common Purpose leadership courses at various levels.

Outside of Common Purpose, Claire works on her house renovation ‘project’ with her husband and tends to her unruly allotment. Claire is also an avid traveller and loves discovering new places and meeting new people. She is a great fan of just being outdoors, whether it's cycle touring, swimming, walking or simply setting up a tent somewhere remote and beautiful.

Claire has the privilege of speaking with people around the world about Common Purpose and is continually inspired by their stories. She loves bringing diverse people together to collaborate on common goals; what they can achieve is always very exciting.
